FishingCue Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

Who We Are

FishingCue is a free mobile app for UK sea anglers. It helps you browse fishing marks, check forecast and planning conditions, see an environmental fishing-opportunity score, and save places to your account.

Privacy contact: fishingcue@gmail.com.

Your Account

You need an account to use FishingCue. You sign in with a one-time email code or with Google. Our authentication provider, Clerk, stores your email address and your display name (the one you edit in the app, or the name Google shares if you use Google sign-in), and your Google profile image if you use Google sign-in.

We keep the following with your account so they are the same on all your devices:

Our backend (hosted on Supabase) stores these together with your account's Clerk user ID.

Data Kept Only on Your Device

Location

FishingCue asks for location permission only when you tap the "locate me" control. It uses your position on the device to centre the map. It does not send your location to us and does not track your location in the background. You can deny location and still browse marks.

Services the App Contacts

These services receive the request and normal network information such as your IP address. They do not receive your account details from us.

What We Do Not Do

FishingCue has no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no in-app purchases, no public profiles, no messaging and no public user-generated content. We do not sell personal data.

Scores and Safety

The score is an environmental fishing-opportunity index. It is not a catch probability, a permission to fish, a legal decision or a safety clearance. Check local rules, access and conditions yourself.

Retention and Deletion

If you cannot use the in-app option, email fishingcue@gmail.com from your account's address and we will delete the account.

Children

FishingCue is not designed for children.

Changes

We will update this policy when the app changes how it handles data, for example if we add profile photos, new synced settings, analytics or community features.
